In a month that featured more high-level prospects in big televised fights than you can shake a stick at. However, one man’s performance stood head and shoulders above the field. “Kid Austin” Floyd Scofield III performed at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, which made the boxing world take notice. There’s no shortage of hype around Schofield, former 140-pound world champ and fellow Texan Mario Barrios has completed Kid Austin’s incredible speed, Oscar De La Hoya noted he was a star and has recently signed him to a co-promotional deal and co-promoter Cameron Davies of Davies entertainment when asked how far kid Schofield go laughed and said he could be one of the best ever. There’s that kind of hype and talent around the 19-year-old who will headline a Golden Boy live card in October and in 2023 will look to be moved along quickly and towards a world title. Given his incredible combination of hand speed, precision punching, power, and ring IQ. It’s not unreasonable to think he could replace Bam as the youngest world champion in the sport in the relatively near future.
